I took a job as cook at Fairview, a property at Laura. I loved working there and after 3 months went back to Macleay Island, gave notice to the Agents and packed up my house. I sold as much as I could and gave away a lot of stuff and packed 18 boxes which went to storage in Cleveland. Happily I went back to Fairview to find changes. It was now Christmas and I was told to leave for 2 weeks so managers could have a private life. I tried to say this was now my home and I had nowhere to go. Finally I booked into Seaview in Cooktown until they closed and headed off. It was Christmas and Cam who I sold my banjo to told me to freecamp at Archers point which I did and he and a friend joined me for Christmas lunch of prawns and fresh coconuts.
